Behind the Scenes at CWM: Preparing for You!

We pride ourselves on delivering high-touch, holistic, and intentional investment planning.

At CWM, providing exceptional service drives everything we do, and we have worked hard to create a purposeful client experience focused on responsiveness from our team of advisors who are completely invested in your success.

An important element of our client counsel is a dedicated approach to connecting annually – and sometimes more frequently – to reassess your goals, strategies and progress during a Plan Update meeting. This meeting is designed to provide an opportunity to connect and explore the performance of your financial plan, offering an in-depth analysis of how far we’ve come and what’s next on the horizon. Unlike other providers you may see regularly (such as your doctor, dentist, or personal trainer), substantial time and effort is put into preparing for discussions before you even walk in the door (or login to Zoom). So, what does it take for your CWM team to be ready for your Plan Update meeting?

Your meeting is just the tip of the iceberg

We believe that every meeting with you should be time well spent – meaningful, productive, and focused entirely on your goals. What you may not see is the amount of preparation that happens behind the scenes before we sit down together. We typically request a two-week lead time between scheduling and hosting your meeting – this is because at least 5 team members touch some aspect of gathering data and updating information with regards to your specific financial plan and accounts. On average, the team spends 3.5 to 4 hours (more if specialized research is required) getting ready just for you!

Our team invests significant time and labor before and after your meeting by:

  • Reviewing your financial plan and recent updates
  • Analyzing current market trends and economic conditions as they relate to your specific portfolio strategy
  • Reviewing previous meeting notes, to-dos, and any open action items for your household
  • Preparing tailored recommendations and resources for your unique situation
  • Conducting a risk-management audit
  • Performing a beneficiary review on all accounts
  • Collating discussion notes and action items from your meeting and uploading to your Document Vault for your reference and review
  • Executing the appropriate administrative tasks for deliverables agreed upon in your meeting
  • Coordinating follow-up communications and processes

This preparation ensures that when we meet, we're ready to have a focused, thoughtful discussion that moves you closer to your goals.

We share the above with you not just to highlight the work being done, but to emphasize how much we value your time — and why we ask for at least 72 hours’ notice if a meeting needs to be rescheduled or cancelled. Every appointment represents hours of careful review and coordination dedicated solely to you and late cancellations limit our ability to support others.

We truly appreciate your partnership, and we look forward to continuing to help you make confident, well-informed financial decisions. If you have any questions, or would like to schedule your next meeting please contact us here or call (425) 778-6160.
