“All I want to do in life is to help people. Regardless of the task, big or small, I want to make a positive impact on people’s lives.”
Heidi joined the CWM team in September of 2017, where she managed front desk operations before transitioning to a part-time Administrative Assistant role. Whether it be setting up meetings or aiding in daily tasks around the office, Heidi keeps her charisma about her whilst assuring all tasks are accomplished.
Heidi has an insatiable desire for learning. She graduated from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon with a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Sports Management, and is currently working towards her Master of Arts in Counseling at Saint Martin’s University. Heidi is passionate about the topic of mental health and dedicates herself to advocating for it. She is the founder of a local chapter of Active Minds, an organization poised at aiming to reduce the stigma around mental health illnesses.
When she has some spare time (which isn't often), Heidi spends it in nature with her miniature Australian shepherd, Bindi. She enjoys camping, boating, trail running, snowshoeing, kayaking, backpacking, and most of all, hiking. As she puts it, “hiking has given me a great perspective on life. The path to the top may be an extremely difficult, uphill battle but reaching the top makes you forget what it took to get there. Rather, the achievement, or the top of a mountain, astounds you. I apply this to my life by never stopping to try to climb, because it is always worth it in the end”.
Heidi also enjoys crocheting hats for the newborns at Northwest Hospital; sewing and altering her own clothing; and reading as much as she can. She has also devoted much of her time to working with organizations such as the Red Cross, Special Olympics, and YCAP food banks.
Heidi lives by her motto, "Life is never lived in solidarity. Life is all about making connections with people – it is these connections that truly enrich our lives.
